About The BKSteppers
The Brooklyn Steppers (BKSteppers) is a premier arts organization committed to developing personal excellence in youth through performance arts education. Meet Thierry
Thierry Remion is a multi-talented musician from the island of Martinique who has toured the U.S., the Caribbean, and Europe as a performer and leader of his own ensemble. Thierry studied music in Paris and Brooklyn, and he is an active music educator and the founding director of OpenArtEd, an organization dedicated to offering a tailored approach to arts education in schools.
Beyond his musical talents, Thierry is certified in Classical Chinese and Ayurveda medicines, holds degrees in Taoist sciences, and successfully operates his own Chinese Martial Arts School in New York City. Thierry brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and dedication to the Music Creation Project.
Guidelines for Students and Parents
To ensure a successful residency for everyone, please review and follow these guidelines:
Students must attend both weekly sessions and may not pick and choose which days to attend.
Students must stick to their assigned class and time slot to help with tracking progress.
The program runs throughout the school year, so students are expected to stay enrolled and engaged.
Regular practice at home is essential. Students should dedicate time each week to improve their skills.
Students must bring their required equipment (drum pad, sticks, and folder with exercises) to every session.
Only students who demonstrate the necessary proficiency will participate in the final performance.
BKSteppers reserves the right to dismiss students due to excessive absenteeism, discipline issues, or non-participation.
To get the most out of the program, students will need the following equipment:
Students will be provided a large zip bag to keep their drum pad, sticks, and music folder together for easy transport.
